Video Of The Week: Retailer Struggles

This column is my opinion and expresses my views. Those views can change at a moments notice when the market changes. I am not right all the time and I do not expect to be. I disclose all my positions clearly listed on the page, and I do not trade my account on the stocks spoken of in this column unless fully disclosed. If that does not work for you stop reading and close the page. Do not bother me or harass me.

Otherwise, enjoy the column!

Retails Struggles

We touched on this earlier in the week, regarding the recent struggles the department stores have been seeing. The biggest issue is that major designer brands are cannibalizing sales at the Department stores through the internet experience with consumer direct marketing and in the Mall’s themselves.

Ultimately the Department stores will need to find a way around through exclusive offerings, brands of their own, or by carrying less inventory.

Video of the week will be a new weekly feature, touching on the major themes from the week.
